Coldplayer

I grabbed a copy of coldplay’s latest album earlier..Im listening to it right now..What i like about this cd is there are new experimental piano/guitar tones and notes plus drum beats that worked very well together with the great voice of chris. My Favorite tracks here,”talk” great anthem song, with classic pre 80’s electo-pop beat.”Fix you”,hmm i can relate to this!hehe.Reminds me of someone and a bloc party song(in silent alarm album).”swallowed in the sea” sweeping slow paced good ol’ rock song. “Speed of Sound” the radio made it popular.haha.but personally an intuitive song. And Lastly,a hidden acoustic last track “til kingdom come” a johnny cash composed song, coldplay did it as a tribute to cash.Great chorus:”For you i’ll wait til kingdom come, until my days..my days are done, and say you’ll come and set me free, just say you’ll wait..you’ll wait for me”.Touching.Coldplay’s Success will continue with these new offerings!
When there is life there is hope.
I recently watched a great japanese film, presented last year in cannes film festival and some other international festives entitled “Nobody knows” Dare mo Shiranai in japanese. This Film is beautifully done by Hirokazu Kore-eda(award winning director of maborosi and after life),and features the young actor Yagira Yuya(won the 2004 best actor award for this film in cannes) who delivered a stunning eye opener performance. The Plot(based on a true event) is about a group of children, left by thier mother with few thousand yen in a rented apartment, trying to survive and live in a suburb place in japan. As the days and months passed, the harder they try to survive. They only beg and hope for food everyday at a local convienience store. The ending scenes was beautifully done, its sorrowful(thier youngest sister died becuase of sickness and malnutrition, the body put into a lagguage bag and burried it in an open airport feild where the planes soar above her) dramatic and heart wrenching! But with an exclamation that there is always a hope for each and everyone. The movie is actually long about 2 hours 30 minutes, but the scenes puts more details on to it..I love this film because it also applies to the current situations in our country, seeing those kids on the streets in metro manila. It also disscusses about children with stolen childhoods because thay are exposed to the harsh realities in life at an early age. This movie is really great.Worth Seeing,If you are really a movie/indie movie lover! hehe.
Here are some great shots in the movie:
Nights of self reflections.(great camera work here)
Hope on fire.(one of the last scenes, perfect angle and contrast)
