New Hopes…New Year!

 

 

It’s New years eve…Another year has passed by in my life..A lot of regrets and good things happened..Most importantly,I was quite happy to survive my challenges this year(2005)..This Coming year(2006),I want to straighten my path and patch up/make up for those mistakes i did to others.Haha..There is a saying “You remain dead for all eternity, but you’re alive only for a brief moment.” Haha..Who knows,i might go early.So i’m going to be sure that before i do,i did accomplish something,something i can be remembered of..specially for those who inspired,gave me new hopes,shared time wtih me and those who made my life worthwile..haha..what a statement!haha..Happy New Year to all! Dont get affected with my statements.LOL!…To all,enjoy another 12 months of your life and hope to visit my site regularly!.

 

Many more do to,much more to learn,a lot to achieve..but nothing is impossible..

Oh..I have a lot of wishes and wants for 2006…ill post about this later!

Collectively.

Last night till early morning we went to paranaque(Gino’s place) for the colony after-christmas party..Oh well we aren’t that many(jimbo,abby and his little brother,8 of us)and not that environment a party(of your perception) would look like.Just a simple one.But collectively it was fun to be with the colony,we talked and they drinked till about 7am this day..haha.Much important is our camaraderie and interaction with the other members,with these kind of events it can bring the group to a stronger and more stable one,which is a vital for any production..To all of you,Happy New Year! Next time our parties and outings will be much better..haha.



Tasks for the colony this 2006!(as i analyzed it)haha

We must have concrete layout of our events and plans.
-our own productions/side projects
-In progression
-the two big ideas(shuffling band members gig,which is a great idea for the band members to get closer to each other)…and the orchestra one..(im very much driven to make this happen)
Spread the word-who we are and what we are doing not just musically but the developmental thing you can get in joining the group.(The upcoming website which tom is finishing can do this).

Constant meetings and attendance.for those who are serious with the productions not only to what it can give,but what they can learn and develop through each process and production.
Parties and Outings!More more and more!hahaha..Joke..

Enjoyably exhausted(Updated)

We went to the boxx gig at freedom bar last night(Story HERE).It was about 2 am when we arrived at floyd’s house after it…Early morning we were asleep,slept about 3 hours and upon waking up it was lunchtime..haha!

About 4pm..We went to the pyro olympics again..this time the weather was good..But the traffic is bad! A lot of people did come,i mean A LOT!..The parking area reached the two sides outside the vicinity,but not all of them watched inside.(oh watched for free but viewing is not that good because its too far)..It took us about 15 minutes asking the gaurds where we can park..Luckily the right side was not that full yet…

Inside….

We are there to see not just the fireworks.But updharma down also.The jazzy-rock band(they were great!).Fireworks are spectacular! We witnessed the US and South Africa’s presentation of thier fireworks display and each clocked at about 30 minutes…After South Africa’s Display,Updharma down played about 5 songs,3 of them i instantly liked! I’ll wait for thier album and maybe this coming months we can invite them in our own production/s..haha.After that awesome performance,we did go for a walk to  go outside and in the parking lot to go home..We choose our way out,in the second gate..To our suprise the front of the sm mall of asia is open for viewing but only viewing..haha..It was like about 5 megamalls in size not including the back buildings..We did try to take a shot of us on the globe right in the facade of the mall but it was too dark and construction is going on..To the architects of these buildings(they are many),you did a great job! and probably this “mall of asia” will be the highlight of your careers!.I beleive,the mall of asia is a testament of engineering and architechture.

After viewing the buildings..we then exited to the parking lot and gone home.. 

I’m enjoyably exhausted yesterday to finish this entry even updates for the fuseboxx journal blog..later evening(thats dec 30) we will have,at last..the super late xmas party….I’ll sleep for a while.Advanced HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL…

Misadventures…

The after-christmas colony party did not go on today because our plan is a little bit off.So we decided to set it for a later date.

So after that..i decided to go to the pyro olympics with jon & floyd,enjoy and spend some time there..

On the way….

Few blocks from the entrance of the Esplanade,we did a wrong turn which caused us to drive through the farther right part of coastal road hoping for a u-turn slot.But right at the end of it,the only way is way out to the coastal road to cavite!Damn!We have to pay/pass by the toll gate,asked the person where is the nearest u-turn slot..he said “right on the island” which was a few kilometers ahead near bacoor cavite..haha..So we have no choice but to drive straight ahead,and now…Traffic! We were stuck about 20 minutes slowly moving…to make fun of our mistake,we were joking about what the toll person said to us..”right on the island”…island where?…haha…20 minutes passed by and we can see the “center island(haha)” with a u-turn slot near the cavite proper…We head back straight again to the toll gate.Paid another toll fee and straight to the Esplanade,this time our way was correct..We parked the car,gave our tickets to the entrance..

Enjoy?…

At first we beleive we can enjoy the night..taking some shots in the sea wall,buying some food and walking around..There are some band who will play to and fireworks will start about an hour later..While we were walking to buy snacks,a sign came…a drizzle but bearable…and stopped immediately…drizzle again for a while and stops..for about 30 minutes…In the concert stage Francis Brew was introducing the band who will be playing and a lot of people in the open feild watching..Applause indeed..The band ‘Orange and lemons’..Ready for the start..As soon as the guitarist is ready for strumming his guitar for thier first song..A big sound came up! It was a heavy rain with winds.We were there and began to run for the tents across the street..Same as the people in the feild..haha..
Drenched in rain…Our shirts got wet(really wet)..It was another 30 minutes till the heavy rain and wind ended..haha..Nobody has a clue if the shoe will push through..A lot did go home after the rain..But it did push thru,there are some test fireworks “germany” about 2 minutes when it was drizzling after the rain.

Leaving…

We decided to leave because we are wet..yeah..very wet!The tickets are redristributed at the exit.Compliments i guess..haha.. I talked to the personnel there,she said the sked for that night is rescheduled at 9 pm onwards..maybe till 12.. Oh we then decided to pick up the tickets again and leave..Maybe we will be back on the 29th or 30th(the closing day).We also want to see ‘updharma down’ playing live..so we will be back. Enjoyed? no..But all in all,I did ..hahaha…why? I love adventures and misadventures…hahaha.

 

Standby..

Today..I did not go outside..My plan to go at the 1st day of pyro olympics is scrapped ..Maybe on the 28th or 30th..Im on standby mode i guess i did just go down for food today.haha..Tommorrow,it will be our xmas party(colony) but before that i’ll be with jon to manila(getting something)…Hmm..have to go to sleep.

Just in time..

Early this morning,after the fuseboxx gig(Story of that HERE) Floyd and i went to the last day of “simbang gabi” which was just in time(about 330 am) when we arrived nearby visayas ave so we decided to go at the nearby church..I did observe there and the last mass was attended by a lot of people.and the different vendors outside.Environments like this one excites me.

The Breakfast..

These past days i was like not sleeping again…hehe..At about midnight(friday) that was yesterday(just to make sure im not confusing),I decided to go somewhere just to have something to do but did leave my pc open in my room downloading something..Outside,the breeze was cold so i have to wear my thin jacket and waited for a tricycle to take me right to the highway..

Highway…I walked a fair distance again to my destination..haha.. It was a quite enjoyable to walk at midnight alone,cold air,few cars just passing by the road and of course the lights of christmas in almost every home and establishment i see..It’s a different feeling than the usual days..

Destination… I did go to a friend’s internet cafe because its 24 hours open now(the one that iv’e been talking about in my posts before)…I did talk with the one assisting in the shop and rented a pc till about an early 630 am.What did i do? considering i have a pc and internet in my house…Hmmm…Just surfing,gathering ideas for my plans and searching some opensource programs plus treating my ears cool loud music,a disco light inside the cafe,food and drinks  available..It’s to energize costumers and a great idea indeed because the place was half full in that time till i left and it was till morning when i did…

 
The Breakfast…

I walked nearby to reach mcdonalds.It has been a while since i ate breakfast alone there..I did order my favorite “sausage mcmuffin” and big breakfast(and there is no big in it,cause i experienced a real big breakfast in a country club and resto in subic!)that was enough for me to fill up my stomach..haha..After that i did go home and slept for the whole day..I did wake up just in time for an event…ill post the story later!

2 days worth of fireworks…

I’m Excited!Just a Day Before Christmas and 2 Before the World Pyro Olympics!Haha. Oh…I’m Out but i did left my pc open and downloading a torrent file(a fairly large one),im just wondering around somewhere..haha..Maybe,ill take some shots later morning…Keeping myself busy and always with an output i just love to look and observe around the way most people can’t seem to do.My sleep pattern did change again..back to the days where an hour or 2 of sleep is ok(one of my friends said to me i was like a battery,1 hour charging and im ok again! haha) It was because i was used to that pattern of sleeping when you got no choice but to stay up because you just cant sleep and gasping for air minute by minute for days or even weeks..Those were the days of Asthma..And that’s not all.hehe..Ive got a lot of credentials in my medical record..haha..Hmmmm…Im going to walk and eat breakfast at mcdonald’s nearby…

On the Verge.

The 4 Track EP of Chubibo is Out…Im Listening to it right now.The songs are well balanced and sounds pretty good(Its a road trip album for me).haha..Success is on the verge for this band!Although,i wish they could stay indie as long as they can.

A lot of air supplied.

Last night.Floyd,Jon and I went to 6 underground again to watch the “Air supply Night” organized by JB music i guess.All of the participating bands featured different songs from air supply.Before it started and during the start of the event,i was observing and asking questions with the “chinita” girl and the guy from 6ug right on the entrance selling tickets..Oh well and i was intrigued that they are telling a story of an incedent that a drummer of a band was injured by the cracked cymbal on the drum set of 6ug dec 16.( I wont mention the name of the band)..The result was a big cut on the drummer’s finger…Thats why when we are posting the redhorse banners on the stage,the cymbal was new..(poor! they waited for an incident to happen before replacing it!not a good trait for a management of such as a good bar..Im expecting they are inspecting all their gears and instruments regularly.But nonetheless,im sure it’s a wake up call for them.)…I did also look onto the ticket sale sheets and schedule of the event right on the table,the first band started with the ticket sales at 22 or 25 at most and it didnt go up until the end of the gig considering it was advertised in a radio station over and over again.Then it came to me that we are lucky and did a very good job at our production to sell almost 90 tickets and the audience stayed at thier seats till the very last end of our event…

Lets go inside….

The first band “Reklamo” Started with an instrumental song with a Sax..The Vocalist/Guitarist was very much enthusiastic to speak up and share stories about his “Reklamos” in the society and his own family..haha..oh..it was like me,an activist in a sense! They featured 4 songs one was the air supply cover and the last one was quite fantastic the drummer and the other percussionist did a long solo..After it..Applause,though the crowd was not so many and others were guests of the bands..

It’s Wickermoss’s turn..They featured 5 songs as i counted it.With “Here i am” as thier cover song for the event..Thier music was great all in all,but stand outs are the voice of the vocalist and the tunes of the bassist..After all thier songs they did promote thier debut album(im planning to buy one if i can see on at the record bars)…

Third was Menaya..they have a decent number of airplays in a radio station with thier first single.They did 5 songs and thier cover for the night was “Here I am” again but with a different approach and tune.After them it took about 10-15 minutes for the next band…

Kikomachine Was up front soundchecking and adjusting thier gears and preparing for thier start..We spotted spider dan before the start of the event arriving with his bandmates in a car with his costume on and walking and posing on the posts outside 6UG and did spray a lot of GLADE in his suite outside(hmmm…I wont say the reason of this,it was quite funny!)..Hmmm..”Royal Rumble” was thier first song..Second was “Val Sotto”.My friends and i sing along with the lyrics!haha..I do have thier unique album(unique as fuseboxx!) but it was borrowed!Damn!The third song was unfamiliar to me but it was in the album.after it was a short one “kikoman”.4th was “Pulp”..And Last Song was a long one with many versions and What ifs It was “Goodbye” of air supply!Haha.Humorous and very funny but most importantly they enjoyed thier music and what they are doing! They Stand out in performing thier songs!And i believe everybody there has the same opinion.Sometime next year,If i have the chance ill interview them…

Lastly,It was what i came for.Fuseboxx..Oh After kiko machine,the place was like closing with only us and gino up front,two more groups at the back and a friend of fuseboxx,Dale ibay right on the front-side waiting for the first song..A lot of air was supplied to us!Haha.It’s us and them in the bar!They started with a new instrumental composition(i cant remember the title!) and my opinion it was heavier but at the middle part was the signature sweeping sounds and solos of fuseboxx..2nd was a part of thier origianl EP back then…Third one was “Reef” or “Leaf” oh…it was new to me!And instantly i was hooked into the melody and lyrics of it! Thier last song for the event was “Now and forever” with a twist of  “switch” at the ending…They did a great rendition of that song we even sing along at the chorus of it even the bar people!haha..Applause at the end,although we are the only ones there! After a few minutes we parted our ways with fuseboxx and scored a big poster of RED HORSE..haha..

Lets Go Home…

While we were on the way home,the windows of the car was open.It came to me that the new songs and compositions of fuseboxx was like new air for them,a new athmosphere layer of thier music..Certainly,we fans and music enthusiast are expecting a lot of thier new air supplied to us! More power to you all!

Now that the Sched of events and activities are available..I would like to inform to all of you that the “World Pyro Olympics” is going to be held here in our country,specifically at The Esplanade Pasay City near the “SM mall of asia” SITE…Hmmm..I’m planning to be there with my friends at the opening and closing night(im not really sure) because it runs from 26th to the 30th.I bet it will be a wonderful event!Bands will also play during the 4 day period. I’ll take a lot of shots to share it to you!haha.Now,Light me up!

Tickets for the World Pyro Olympics are priced at 100 pesos each.

Tickets will be sold at the entrance, during the event. To avoid the long queues during the event proper, tickets may also be purchased before the event.

Tickets can be purchased at Room 222, La Fuerza Plaza II, 2241 Don Chino Roces Ave. (formerly Pasong Tamo) corner Sabio st., Makati City.

Love Blinded the Beast..

Jon and i watched King Kong earlier and it was a cinematic masterpiece from the start and end credits..Accompanying us are 2 biggie meals of wendys(hmmm..iced tea and grilled burger,i did not munch on the fries!)..The best part of it was about an hour long “Skull Island” scene and the famous “Empire State” Climbing.The Island scenes is like saying that speilberg’s jurrassic park is like trash and carnage.Love the tounge and jaw ripping kong!.It was a delight for us to see this film..After it,we were discussing about a “prologue” part of king kong and what is the history of that said island…Hmmm..im gonna bet this movie has a director’s cut,and im gonna buy one if it ever comes out!..Details of the movie?hmmm..SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!…3 hours 7 minutes of pure filmaking talent is what you are going to get…Hmmm..Ive got an alternate ending,It wasnt beauty that killed the beast.Love blinded the beast and eventually killed him..haha..what a melodrama! Remember to catch it on theaters,not some crappy bootleg videos or downloads!

With Less than 2 weeks Before Christmas..I’m very much motivated and inspired to continue to live on..Though there are some drawbacks,i cant loose hope right now after all these years.Because i believe i have a task,to prove to others that my life(a colorful one i might say) is a worthy one. Early presents..

Hmmm.2 more weeks and its Christmas.Monday afternoon i did go to the dot ph building after that i went strolling at the mall to check some things out,canvass and eat lunch…Ive got a new toy and it does macro!(you have to guess what is it!)..An Early present for me i might say..But im not contented,because i havent got anything for my friends yet.Afterall this season is about giving,next week i have to buy something for them..

Eye opener

Hmmm..I did start off my day by watching the guesting of fuseboxx exactly 6 am in “THE  BREAKFAST” show at studio 23(where was sir albert?i guess he was late)But its ok.hehe.It was an eye opener seeing them on tv while im eating my breakfast..Their interview was short but elaborative in a sense.(i wish they could do a longer tv guesting with some other prog bands,maybe a 15-20 minute talk next time because the people needs to be aware of what we are sharing and promoting.)hahaha..I’ll watch for Eternal Now and Anhura on the 8th and 9th at the same show,Watch out for it also!haha..Im eager to hear what they will say about thier music and ideals..

Later,im off to ortigas at the dot ph office..haha..maybe i’ll stroll at the mall after i finished my transaction there.

History in the making.

Last night and early morning today was a wonderful experience!The in-progression did kick of pretty well with an acceptable crowd(we did fill the bar to its seating capacity as i observed).It was so inspiring for me to see these bands playing not because they have to but because they want to(share thier music,open the minds of the people).It made me realize that we the colony have to improve some aspects in the production next time to be twice as successful in this concluded event.Well,this event cant be possible without the brilliant minds and ideals of(just a moment,im expressing my courtesy) sir Eric and ms. Abby,sir Pepe and Chad,to all the band’s representatives and members! And last but not the least,all the members of the colony!We all did our parts to make this happen,Let’s make this happen again! To the bands,it is our privilage to feature all of you,may you continue to support our community and together we will journey into history in the making!It has begun.

What A Start!

Tommorrow,The Start of our long term production will begin.I’m very excited and curious of what would be the result and impact of it on the current music scene..We are hoping for a full house tommorrow night! Goodluck to us! hahaha..
