Fragmented

 

We went to the UpDharma Down’s album launch(Fragmented)/Terno Au go-go event at Cubao…Music was great(i mean GREAT!),but i think there is something is wrong with that event..It should have been a way lot “Better”.But kudos to Terno recordings to putting up this kind of event(i know its very hard to organize music events these days) i only wish it could be better maybe next time(venue and the prompt time schedule it doesnt need to require more money.All it needs is a plan,a good one for a great event)..The tagline “Challenge your music sensibility” is much better with “Change your music event sensibility” right? Because Great music is much better when accompanied with a good event(venue,the layout,and proper booth for the band to sign thier fans’ Cds.).We bought albums but did’nt see UdD and have the chance to sign the cds(but i did see the bassist looking around at about past 9pm!I should’ve talked to him and let him sign my cd).To our dissapointment,we just drove/went home at about before 12am..We listened to the cd right away as we are passing by across edsa..Great for refreshing a stressed mind and body.haha.You can sense the jazzy feeling of the album,Armi’s voice variations coupled with her melodic keys..The atmospheric guitar parts(courtesy of Carlos) of the songs deeply sets the moods of the songs.Paul’s bass parts is kinda like Stu Hamm’s(in joe satriani’s slow/groove songs) playing with the mix of his own style .Percussions are great with the jazzy yet very complex combinations of Ean…The album overall is a topnotch one,something that we filipinos should be proud about..proud of what? That there is a band that willing to show and share thier talent in thier own different way..I feel “fragmented” though,i didnt see them last night and maybe talk to them..Maybe next time!I’m listening to thier cd the whole day and savoring each peice of note,each note of every song..Haha.Congratulations to UpDharma Down for  weathering the challenges and eventually came up with the album..Keep the “quality” music coming..I know you’ll go further in success! Meanwhile,i did some photos to celebrate a great new album for my collection and also some of thier pics live at the pyro olympics last december 29th 2005(oh this even was better than last night’s).Enjoy!

Will of Williams.

Yesterday(27th in europe,28th here),Williams F1 launched thier new car dubbed as the “FW 28″.the traditional FW name(Frank Williams,Formula Williams) plus the 28th on its series..The new competitor for this f1 season is equipped with the new standard 2.4L V8 engine from “Cosworth”(a ford racing division,like TRD of toyota or RUF of porsche),The bodywork is also heavily modified to fit it to the regulations for this season like the other cars.Examples of this are smaller air intakes and narrowers sides.Im a fan of williams f1,so i hope they will recover from last year’s poor performance,though williams is always been a top works team and one of the most sponsored because of thier experience in the f1 arena.I must say that the will of williams(as an established team) to comeback strong in the forthcoming season is greater than last year.Go Williams!!haha.Also,on the 31st(Feb 1 here),Renault F1 will launch thier R26 F1 car.So let’s await what the world champion team has to offer..

Oh..I love to call him the “professor X” of F1..Frank Williams and his two race drivers..Why is he on wheelchair?..Hmmm..He had a car accident back in the late 80’s and left him with a fractured spine.sad..but a living legend! : )

Honda f1 Launch!

Behold the Honda RA106 F1,the first F1 car launched by Honda alone since 1964(the RA271 F1).They have a rich  history in f1 and probably they are the only one who teamed up and supplied engines with Willams f1(80’s-a lot of success),Lotus f1(80’s-a lot of success),Mclaren(Late 80’s-Early 90’s-again a lot of success).They stopped for a while in the early 90’s and came back in 1999 to team up with B.A.R.(British American Racing) till last year.This coming season,with thier full works team offered a fully modified BAR-Honda 007 F1(from last year) to compete with the races this season which they tagged as the “RA106 F1″..The body work is a shark-like one with the chassis made of carbon-aramid and the new RA806E 2.4L V8 engine will give it’s power.Honda f1 rolled out with 2 RA106 cars so the two drivers(Button,Barrichelo) can test it on the track..Im also watching out for the Williams launch..Ill post it ASAP..

It’s a Deal!

 

Disney did agree to aquire Steve Jobs’ Pixar Studios with a hefty $1 billion in cash and $6.3 Billion in shares/stocks..Whew! That’s a lot..The disney animation department will now be combined with pixar with pixar overheading the disney staff.Jobs will also be a member of the board of the disney company and heck as the report says earlier,the single largest shareholder! How good is to be in his shoes!?hahaha.As Early as today Itunes Video are selling some downloads of Disney’s short films at $1.99 per download..In the coming days or weeks probably a whole catalog of disney features..Wow.It’s a d*mn great deal! one that will encourage many companies of different fields to join the “apple revolution”.

Oh,By february ill fix my blog it will get an Interface-lift!haha.Also opening a new section/subdomain..What is that?? Watch out for it! It will be the biggest suprise…hahaha…all i can do now is a “Pad cast” haha…So be on the lookout.

Im also readying my layout for the upcoming 2nd leg of in progression(i hope my ideas and plans will be approved by the next meeting).In addition,im in gaurd for the releases of new DSLRs.Reportedly,some will be introduced at the PMA/DIMA convention in the US(Feb 26-Mar 3).I will be also at photoworld this February at glorietta to try and compare different models.I have to have a good choice because im really itching to have a DSLR.Someone said to me once you buy one,never look back.Enjoy what you have chosen..haha..Besides the choice,im closing on to the budget of aquiring one!Then it’s a Deal! : )

 

 

 

 

 

Week-long Launches.

This week,the launch of Ferrari’s “248 F1″  and Mclaren-Mercedes’ MP4-21 F1 happened just yesterday.Ferrari launched their new car at thier private track at mugello,italy while Mclaren at the circuit de catalunya,spain.They both Feature new v8 engines and heavily modified bodyworks and chassis,though the bodywork can change before the first grand prix this march.

Hmmm..I love the Orange Mclaren..Their move from “West” to “Johnny Walker” for sponsorship in thier team deeply affected the color of the car(like any other team as i said back in my previous f1 entry.) Ferrari as usual a red one,but i thought cigarette livery is now prohibited(Marlboro logos are still dominant in thier new car..why?? I dont really know! I’m investigating this one!haha).Ferrari also sealed a Deal with “Martini” so probably by mid season they will change from marlboro to martini?So let’s see..The two teams also rolled out thier new machines to the track and completed some test laps for records and analysis..

About the Ferrari name..Why 248-F1? they back to thier signature names,they derive it from the engine “2.4L/V8″ like the 1997 car “F310B”=3L/V10 engine B spec. or thier exotic  cars like the Scalgietti 612= 6L/V12 engine..From 2001-2005,they named thier f1 cars only like F1+ the year. EX: Ferrari f1 2005(last year).. Interesting facts eh?..I’ll tell you more about the other teams if you want to..Just ask me!haha..I’ve been an avid f1 fan since childhood..

Also This week, Honda f1(Former BAR-Honda f1) will launch thier new car tommorrow,Williams F1(still a great team) on the other hand will sport thier FW-28 f1 car in the 27th and lastly,Renault f1(Last Season’s World Champion both driver’s and constructor’s) will roll out on the 31st with thier R26-F1..Whew! Week long of F1 Launches. 3 more teams will have thier cars introduced by february and march,Scuderia Toro Rosso(a second Team for Red Bull f1),Midland f1(Former Jordan f1 team) and Super-Aguri f1 Team(A second honda owned team).

Dixar? Dreamount?

Just in…Disney is in the talks of buying pixar(Oh its not yet official,so i assume they are in the convincing process)…Reported deal amount = $ 7 Billion!($$$$$$$).

Steve Jobs is in the brink of controlling another field…He crreated and owns pixar,automatically he will have the share in disney(about 20-30% making him the single largest shareholder too).Plus Itunes/Video will have a boost with new downloads/movies from disney(a part of the deal)..More and more ventures Eh? The Domination of the white minimalistic and “I” word is coming.

Trivia:

1986 - Lucas Computer Animations division —> Bought by Steve Jobs @ $10M dollars and founded Pixar Studios with 44 starting employees —-> 1987-present - Inredible Success with multiple awards and nominations—–>>> Dixar?? hehehe

Also,Paramount Pictures recently acquired Dreamworks(A studio owned by Steven Speilberg).. Deal Amount: almost $2 billion plus paramount will carry the debts of dreamworks..

These past days ive been so busy..good thing the net is very available anytime! Hmmm..probably tommorrow i’ll be out again to acquire some new books.(im really into self study…even before!) Oh..im also opting to be a member of Haribon,to be a volunteer in the upcoming cinemanila 2006(if i will be here by that time),did request a catalog of NYIP for my plans of taking up an few courses in the us…Further,the 2nd leg of In Progression will be on February..It will take about 2 weeks of preparation,but we can do it! haha..

Waterline Action/Drama(japanese side)

When Pearl Harbor the movie was released back in 2001,it was a hit.The movie concentrated on the plot of the japanese to attack pearl harbor and the capsizing of USS Arizona and some other ships(Pacific Fleet) in the hawaiian coast.Japanese people looked like they are gruesome killers there..

 
Now..In Japan,They Recently released a film(a Big bidgeted one) about the Battleship Yamato(which is the biggest battleship ever made to date,apart from the Battleship Musashi which really is the biggest but lasted only until 1944 when it sank in Sibuyan Sea here in philippines)..The plot of the story,April 6 1945 is the Last operation of the Imperial fleet called “ten go“(Yamato along with Cruiser Yahagi and 8 destroyers) to attack the US troops landing on the west of the japanese island.It was a desperate suicide mission indeed,but one that would be a landmark in WWII history.Follow day,They were sighted by the US submarines and immediately launched more than 300  warplanes off the us carriers to engage the japanese fleet..The yamato took some super heavy beating before it sank(4 hours long of battle,10 torpedo hits and 8 aerial bombs in the different sections of it)..Lives Lost: More than 2000 men.

This movie seems promising(well at least to me because im really following world war II stories).Pretty dramatic too..It can change the view of many people..Though i doubt if it will be released here or even in US..I will wait for the DVD!

Some Trivia:

USS Arizona=185 meters in length

Battleship Yamato = 263 meters in length

That means more action and firepower!hahaha…There has not been a bigger ship and firepower to match yamato till now..Thats why its a legend.

BMW-Sauber!

 

The new BMW-Sauber f1 Team have launched thier car for the 2006 f1 season.. The dubbed ‘BMW-Sauber f1.06′ was presented in the Valencia Circuit premises along with the drivers(Jaques Villeneuve,Nick Heidfeld and new test driver Robert Kubicka).The new car features the new standards in f1,A v8 2.4 Liter engine(which is a product of many testings and lab hardwork).The body and chassis still resembles last year’s Sauber C24 f1 car but with heavy modifications on the front,side and back ends. BMW-Sauber f1 was formed last year because BMW have the serious plans in f1(to win in many races,though thier parter for almost 6 years Williams can’t seem to give the best out of the BMW engine/parter ship).BMW Bought about more than 50% of Sauber’s f1 team last year and concluded a contract.Now,BMW-Sauber seems to have a very positive outcome..Let’s see it on the Races this season!

 

 

They also tested and rolled out the f1.06 in circuit de ricardo tormo with Heidfeld and Villeneuve changing to drive it..

Side View.Petronas,Credit Suisse,Michelin and Intel again…Though you can see which companies contributed the largest..See the Color of the Car.. White and Blue,which means BMW and Intel probably put on about $75-100m each for the new team.O2 seams to have shared about $40-50m(my estimates..thats what you get in F1.business,competition,speed and passion!) Further explanation,that contribution of companies are not limited to cash,example:Intel provides the team with computing hardwares.O2 on the mobile communication part.Petronas of course gives unlimited fuel for the team.

On Test.

 The Powerhouse!

The new v8 engine of BMW.2.4 Liters(2400cc),it Produces an excess of 800 horsepower at almost 20,000 rpm.Each individual part of this is carefully hand assembled(like an airplane) to ensure no parts are loose.This is a result of a year and a half development!

You wonder? Its natural..You can’t see it when an f1 car is in the circuit.But in the labs,when the engine is on action..the 4 tube muffler on each side glows(red hot) because the heat from the engine produces about 800 degrees celcius!The Blue flame is called “afterburn” this happens when excess fuel is burned out of the engine with new fuel is pumping in .hahaha..Tricky eh? The f1 cars really are!

Onto another side,I tried the yahoo widgets which is originally the opensource program(Konfabulator) recently aquired by the search engine company..Like the KDE apps and widgets on linux its quite good..Now my desktop have ticker news updated every 5 minutes(you can manually adjust it to your preference) I added a clock too(the windows clock is unusable when your far from the monitor so i needed a larger one).A Gmail widget.Finally a Weather pane updated every 30 minutes.Im gonna add some more next time.My only complain is that it eats up a lot of resources per widget(so i wish they could integrate it with the main program).See the image below of my current desktop screenshot! It’s a bit messy though..haha

Photo ops?Photo Opt!

Sunday..Just sitting here and surfing for like the whole day.haha..Im busy digging in to photography,re-read some articles on magazines(shutterbug,pophoto,etc),enhancing my editing skills.Most importantly,im canvassing for a SLR on the net and thru phone contact on some stores..A challenge i might say to bring about the best camera my money can buy and hopefully by Feb i can have one!.A body,A pair of lens,Aux Flash,Battery Grip..haha.Why am i pursuing for this? I photo opt!haha.Would love it to be my hobby(when im focused with something im definitely do my best to get the most out of it and it most out of me) and eventually photo ops!Then make a side career out of it.haha..Its not a constant job,but it will pay you good if you do prove you are good specially in visioning a shot,your timing etc.By the way,I’m also going to be in the Photoworld 2006(about 3 days of it)hahaha..It will run from Feb. 9 to 14 at Ayala center.It’s great to explore things that others seems to overlook.


I’m also eyeing for music lessons and sound engineering,plus my dream(to be at a film school)..Many..Many…many…many..But only one has the power to make it true,ME!haha

Just like i said earlier,i’ve been browsing sites related to photography and i found two of those somewhat cute!hahaha..They are japanese sites of Fujifilm and KonikaMinolta.I even downloaded a lot of thier brochures eventhough its in japanese(its really cute for me!these sites have lots of flavor.hahaha.)Some other sites are serious though stunning ones like Sigma and Hasselblad..Click on the Thumbnails to view the webpages ive been saying. : )

Apple’s Keynote yesterday brought out the official partnership of intel and apple through thier new products the Intel Imac and Macbook Pro.Why did intel merge with apple?My opinion is thier 64 bit line was a little bit off in all aspects compared to what AMD is doing in that feild,so they have to create a new strategy..Back to apple,some products for thier ipod line have been introduced,new mac softwares are available now.But the big thing,Is OSX will be officially available or introduce to PC(x86) users.? Well to lighten this up,check this TEST ARTICLE! It’s very interesting.if that will happen Microsoft will have a big problem.Gates and Ballmer will scratch thier heads and Steve Jobs will be very excited!.In fashion,Levi jeans company(levi’s) will make the RedWire DLX jeans which will feature a docking cradle and retractable headphones(all detachable) for apple’s Ipods..haha..the marketing strategies are in the works!..I wonder If AMD would step onto making a deal with Microsoft.haha.Mic-Athlon?.That doesnt seem to be a good name.haha.For Microsoft,”Vista” is coming and a lot of users is anticipating it(im one).A lot of tech wars will happen this year..For apple,A very good start this year,suprising actually..I can say,It’s a BIG MAC! year.Possibilites for apple?Endless because they are one the hardware and software business.anything could sprout with Mac..Mcdonalds maybe(start on planning the ipod happy meal!).AMD?in the coming years and mac line-ups maybe? MAC-Athlonx2 and MAC-Turion sound good to me..haha..Levi’s is one of the few starting the fashion trend for the i-pods..Maybe we will see an i-gap or an i-guess jeans..For the mac,we might see a Mac-Benetton bag for laptop in a few years time..A lot of my stupid ideas!haha.But,i’m predicting a lot of these will be true!Watch out also for another IPOD/S this year.It will be the biggest suprise,Steve Jobs said!haha.

It’s been a while..We had a wonderful last weekend out of town..I have nothing much to say right now,except that im relieved (from my sorrows and regrets because i did have the time to reflect on myself,the past this/thats.) and enjoyed the time there.hahaha..

January..not that much is happening in my life so far..Though we are going to Subic this weekend(Later morning we will leave)..haha.(but don’t get a picture that my life is such a wonderful and easy-easy one,it’s a colorful one!haha.)..Well,a bunch of my schoolmates/classmates are graduates already..A new horizon for them..I just hope they wont be stuck on just that,and “DON’T MESS UP” right on the stage of thier real lives(you have come this far,why not go on and if your lucky enough,your 5-10 years of working may give you the comfort for the rest of your life).Certainly,a lot of thier “will be” aquaintances are with different lifestyles..I just hope they wouldnt imitate or be with the people thinking that life is just “THAT”.The trying hard “i’m cool” types…flashy cars,one-night stands,hook-ups,money,the bars,the parties..Trust me,that kind of life can’t make you full neither happy in all aspects..So i dare you all to be different in many ways..your thinking,your perception and the way you handle things.Why?Because from this point on,you are managing your own life..This goes to all people who shared time with me during the “ama” days/years,most specially “her”..I want you to be successful in all things(in years to come) and i’m gonna help you the best way i can(trust me on this!)..There will be mistakes(like i did a lot of times in my life),but i dare you stand and learn everytime you fall through the path of life..Marriage or serious Relationships,all i can say it’s better when you are a “Established” working individual(i mean not just that you have a job,established means you have a life..It’s a lot different).So with that you have less problems,matured partner and maybe a baby with a clear “FUTURE”.haha.In this matter(love life) the early bird doesnt catches the worm..the worm with loads of problems cathes the bird!haha..’Why live with another when you alone can’t live on your own’..It may sound that i’m critisizing..NO…just trying to share the lessons ive learned through time..haha..Iv’e been a lot of situations(probably no one would expect what all iv’e been through,there are many records scattered all over..haha)Someday you’ll know all about me..

You are all given the chance to polish and flourish your life,don’t even waste it.Not unless you want to be a “tambay” till you turn 50..haha.We only live in years count,but forever dead in the grave.LOL..So don’t..Be progressive(in many ways)!HAHA..Easy to say but hard to do,right..But when your driven and determined,no matter how hard it is you’ll forget the hardships,hoping and invisioning that someday there would be “Better Days”…There would be,only you alone can change your life.. Do always remember that in life we are not remembered for what we have,it’s what we have done..

Me? I just keep on learning new things and broadening my horizons in my interest and hobbies.Expanding my visions in what else i can do.Helping and contributing in variuous groups..Probably work on 2 jobs in US next year..enroll on another course(filming i guess)…and most specially,save save and save..

Laptop or a high capacity media storage(120gb-250gb) A MAC powerbook or an HP zd8000 will do great! fit for my applications..A maxtor or lacie external firewire storage.im gonna set-up a portable multimedia equipment for different uses(music,photos,movies)..probably ill buy the laptop when i migrate..it is much cheaper overseas.

4.Apparels from the brand with 3 stripes(Adidas)..I want the new collections..haha.. ive been sticking with this brand for quite a while now..

5.Lots of love…hahahaha..oh well..not that really..i realized my purpose in life now..
